The Friends of Killens Pond State Park is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) nonprofit that supports the Park. Its dedicated and talented staff are one of the finest resources in central Delaware, offering year-round opportunities for recreation, entertainment, and learning.

The Park sometimes needs funding for programs, supplies, and equipment that is not funded, and that is where the Friends and your support come into play. The Friends fundraising focuses on Education and the Arts.

The Friends last year contributed over $1000 through our member giving campaign, in addition to over 1000 volunteer hours of work in the Park.

We reach out to local business donors to support our efforts, which include:

• Children’s Nature Programs and scholarships to summer camp
• Friday Evening Summer Concert Series
• Maintaining a reserve fund to purchase items the Park needs that are not in their budget, including:
  • security cameras,
  • trail cameras,
  • batteries for AED equipment,
  • bird feeders & seed.
• Maintenance tools and fishing poles for the Nature Center
• Additional lounge chairs for the Water Park

In return for your generous donation, your company – unless you choose to remain anonymous – will be listed in the Friends of Killens Pond State Park information brochure that will be available in the Park office, at the Nature Center and at all Friends events, and on our website. 

Your company will also be listed on a banner that will be displayed at the concerts and at other Friends events.
